Vale - Bernard (Bernie) Dix

On behalf of the Committee, Players and Members, the Club sends our deepest sympathy to the Dix family in respect of Bernard Dix, who on February 14, at the Alfred Hospital, passed away peacefully after 38 years of fighting Cystic Fibrosis and 14 years after a lung transplant.

Bernie was a very active and passionate member of the Football Club, and one of our greatest volunteers, who selflessly always put his hand up to help out for the benefit of the club.

A member of the General Committee in 1989-1993, Bernie served on the Executive Committee as Secretary in 1991.

He also devoted his time to being a Team Manager, Bar Person and Senior Goal Umpire - the latter becoming a great passion of Bernie's that saw him represent the club at league level as an official VAFA umpire.

Bernie's work ethic and efforts were duly recognized, culminating in him twice winning one of the club's highest honors – Best Clubperson (1989 and 1990).

Bernie was awarded a Life Membership in 1994.

A Service to celebrate the life of Bernard Joseph Dix will be held in the Boyd Chapel, Springvale Crematorium (Princes Hwy) on THURSDAY (Feb. 18) at 2.30 p.m.

2010 Pre-season Training
Preparation is the key to success!

Our assault on 2010 has started and the first 2 blocks on Pre-season training has been completed.

Training sessions are on Monday and Wednesday nights, starting at 6.00pm at Parkdale Secondary Colleges' back oval. Training will continue there until our ground is available.

All players are requested to bring Runners, Drink Bottles, Sunscreen and a Cap/Hat...
Injured players are still required to attend, along with a bike and a helmet.

The Parkdale Vultures AGM was held on Wednesday 18th November at Gerry Green Reserve and the committee was pleased to report a sound financial position in what was otherwise a fiscally challenging year.

Joining the Vultures in 2010!

The Parkdale Vultures is a great club to play footy at, with great facilities, professional staff, a fantastic standard of football and a family orientated social atmosphere, we invite and welcome new players and members to become part of the team.

For season 2010 the club will field 5 teams... Seniors / Reserves / Under 19's in the VAFA, a Superules team in the MAF, and a ladies team in the VWFL.
